Cwmbran Baroque Singers

Cwmbran Baroque Singers was formed in 1971.

Dr Geoffrey Tyler was the founder and his vision of creating a chamber choir to sing little known works, primarily of Baroque origin, continues to this day.  The repertoire has expanded to include works from the last seven centuries, including those by such varied composers as King Henry VIII and Bob Chilcott.

The choir has performed on BBC radio and television. It has won many local eisteddfodau and was the winner of a national television competition.

Based in Cwmbran, Torfaen, South Wales, the choir has travelled widely at home and abroad. It has a special relationship with the Madrigalchor of Cwmbran's twin town, Bruchsal, Germany, and has exchanged visits with them on four occasions.

In recent years, the choir has enjoyed a number of successful tours to Prague, Salzburg, St. Petersburg and Florence as well as Budapest and Krakow. The choir now regards itself as an international choir, singing in many different styles and many different languages.
